Test scores show up on greatschools.net, which is given the same authority as the bible by a lot of posters on the real estate forum.

Do you people really sleep and breath according to test scores? Do you really think test scores are the only real indication of what kids are learning?
I bet you are all the same people complaining about No Child Left Behind and how everyone was teaching to those tests, and teachers just doing what needed to be done to meet those criteria and that is all that was being taught.

From the article:
"And what’s coming will initially be disappointing, although expected. Testing experts say that a conversion to a new test usually brings a drop in scores."

I don't know, but I would think that if before you are teaching to a test, then you change the test, the scores would drop, right?

Is this supposed to be an example of failure?

No.

Common Core and PARCC are being pushed down our throats, parents are starting to get sick of being lectured to about how great CC is when we see the crappy all over the place homework and the lack of a solid cirricullum.

It's time to stand up and say our kids are not going to be your testing ground.

I'm not saying CC is evil, just it's too immature and they are implementing something that has not even been developed.

Sigh.

1) We already talked about this disruptive moron who went to a Baltimore meeting when he, in fact, is in Howard County.

2) MD is not some "testing ground" for Common Core. http://content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2152412,00.html

Please, OP. In the future, when you feel the need to opine regarding a topic about which you know nothing, refrain.
