Lots of Republicans at Langley. Romney won the mock election in a landslide!

OP -- it's 13:00 again. They don't ask about your politics and they really don't care. They care about your child's grades and test scores and will analyze if they are a "fit". Don't presume your child or children will share your political views anyway.

OP, I think you're overthinking. If you don't feel comfortable during the application process, then don't apply there. If it feels welcoming, then do. I'm very socially liberal and picked a school (named among the ones above) that seems very balanced/possibly skews conservative, but I'm not picking a school to get in a discussion over gay marriage or abortion with the parents, so I really don't see this as a problem.

You'll be fine at St. Andrew's too -- a good balance.

I think you and your friend are overthinking things OP. Your kids go to school -- not you! No one really cares.

Potomac, Madeira, Episcopal, Georgetown Prep, Gonzaga. These schools have at least a small conservative group and maybe more respect in each direction.

You'd be fine at the Cathedral Schools, NPS, St. Patrick's and Landon. Also most of the privates in VA (Potomac, SSSA).

I was talking to a friend who is an alumnae of a "Big 3" and knowing my religious and political background she suggested that I give serious consideration to the culture of the school my kids attend. Her concern was that some schools might be a little to progressive and liberal. Having lived in NYC and San Francisco where my kids attended school and very liberal communities and don't have a problem since many of our friends in those cities lived different lifestyles than we live as a family. My concern is that schools might not want families of conservative backgrounds. I have friends with backgrounds similar to mine who attended or send their kids to Bullis, Landon and St. Albans and have had great experiences. I would like to know if people have any thoughts on other schools that might be more friendly,
