Subject: Looking for a job while caring for young children

Yes! I feel your pain. I am a physician and decided I may be better off working one week/mo (by doing locums) while DH and DD fend for themselves. I feel guilty, but the cost of living + student loans = mom must work. What type of career do you have? There may be ways to work from home and hire a mother's helper (esp in the summer when HS students are off). I did that for one summer when I had to study for my boards. My DD was too young for camp at the time, and I actually hired a school teacher to watch her for 3 hrs/day while I studied fervently. Don't worry, keep trying and enjoy your days with your child. Focus on finding a job after s/he goes to bed. You may also want to post your resume on a reputable website. Also, consider joining linkedin to search for people in the same career field. Maybe you can work temporarily for their company as an independent contractor.

OP here. This thread (which is locked) is the closest I could find to what I'm trying to do.
