Yes, but currently it is manual process that I only run periodically when I think of it.

Okay, I have caved it to popular demand and added the date of the first post above the author of the original post of a thread.

I don't think it's such a big deal IF a thread is re-opened for discussion, BUT.....I think many of us would like to understand before we open a thread that looks interesting, if it is an old thread or a new one because we might comment differently. The "Original Post" date is an important piece of information.

So if Dixie can be revived after 2 years, how long does it take before the lock?

I agree that all threads that are at least a year or two old should be locked. They can still be searchable and people can get the information in them, but they can't post something new and stir it up again. See the Dixie name thread on Expectant moms now as a good example. It came up in a google search somewhere and a woman in Alabama commented on it and now it's going again after 2 years.

This thread is the perfect reason why we need to see the original post date. It's so frustrating to see these threads revived after they've been dead for a year.

It's back, and some people are commenting as if it is recent. Others are saying "hey, jackass, this thread is over a year old".

I think it would spare a lot of confusion to have an original post date near the "last message" date.

Was wondering if there is a way to show the date of the original post of a thread without having to open it up to see. There seem to be a lot of old threads brought back from the dead. It would be nice to see on the right hand side of the screen somewhere.
