Yesterday I played roulette and put $10,000 on 23. My wife said that was reckless and risky, but it landed on 23, so clearly that was a smart investment.
Some stock picks will pay off, and others won't. On average you're better off going with index funds.

Two days ago I told my husband that I thought we had too much invested in one stock. He was an early investor and it has done very well. He said yes it’s very volatile but he felt its future, while likely rocky, had great potential. Yesterday the stock went up $26 or more than 30%. No mention of I told you so. I still think he should sell some!
