On Such a Full Sea by Chang-Rae Lee. Brilliant book.

1984 is brilliant too if you have never read it. About manipulating language and more.

OP here. Thank you for the suggestions! I have read a lot of those, but there's also a fair number that I've never even heard of so I'm really excited about this.

Andy Weir also wrote Artemis if you haven’t read it. Not as good as the other two in my opinion but still good.

The Expanse Series
Dungeon Crawler Carl
All of Scalzi but Old Man's War particularly.
Ancillary Justice
The Light Brigade
Murderbot
Wayfarers Series by Becky Chambers
Three Body Problem
Doomsday Book

I preferred Psalm for the Wild Built by Chamber’s. I would add Locked series by Scalzi. Wool series by Howey. And, maybe, We Are Bob.

I was thinking these, too.

Also the young adult series Scythe is very very well done. My teen rarely faces about books but couldn't stop talking about this one until the whole family read it. We basically had an extended family book club at Christmas.

Olivia Butler’s Parable of the Sower, parable of the talents, and Kindred. All fantastic and we have the same taste in books

For science fiction
I've read the Adrian Tchaikovsky series
I've read the Martian and Project Hail Mary
And of the two I really, really loved project Hail Mary
I've read the dune series
I've read all the books by I can't remember the author, but one of the books was a mote in God's eye
Multiple other series I can't think of the names because they're not inmy audiobook library
I've also read science fiction books from the old authors like Isaac Asmov, Ray, Bradbury, etc.

For dystopian, I've read
Lucifer's hammer
The road
Station 13
And a number of a YA series to include, of course, the hunger games, and many more.

If anybody has any recommendations, I will take them.

The front page of the Washington Post…

OK, if it has to be a novel:

- E.M. Forster’s “The Machine Stops.”

- John Christopher’s Tripods books.

- Anything by M. John Harrison.

- Andre Norton’s “Catseye” books.

- Harry Harrison’s “Make Room, Make Room.”

- Isaac Asimov’s “Caves of Steel,” if you’ve missed that.
