1. It’s technically not too late for Disney World. However, it has a pretty involved reservation system that you have to learn in order to actually get on rides during peak travel season. If you walk in blindly, you’re going to be blowing thousands of dollars to wait in lines and elbow through crowds. Based on the tone of your original post, I recommend you skip.

2. The beaches will likely be too cold, but there’s no shortage of heated pools in Florida. If you want to be near a beach, pick a place with a good pool. Someone has mentioned Tampa, but Space Coast/Brevard Zoo/Cocoa Beach is an ocean side place to consider. Miami/Florida Keys will get you better beach weather, but not guaranteed.

3. If you want a domestic beach vacation, consider Puerto Rico.

Yeah. Manatee season is November through March. They come inland to the warm springs when the weather gets cool.

We went to the orange bowl in Miami in Dec many years ago and it was like 40-50! I is unusual but not unheard of. Have backup plans.

In Florida go as far south as you can. Ft Lauderdale/Miami or Naples/Marco Island. Northern Florida could be quite cold. Even still the ocean will likely be too cold but a heated pool could be okay.

Ignore the Florida haters. Many parts of Florida are quite lovely.

No you are right. Those are the only two warm weather locations that time of year in the US. Have fun.

Why only those two options? We go to Florida every year that week to visit family. Weather is fine for us to swim but family says it's cold. We've never been to Disney but Florida is a big state with other places to go!

If we skip Disneyworld during Christmas week, what else is fun to do there with kids? I think it is too late and probably too crowd/most expensive to book Disneyworld in late December. Is the weather too cold for beach? Would that be better to go to Las Vegas with kids? What could kids do if we are not gamblers?
