It sounds like you might need to clear your cache.

Chrome does not solve the issue. Child looked at my login but with the first error “in red” where I have already logged into Parentvue and being told I need to log into synergy first the child was at a loss of what to do too. It should not be so hard for parents to use McPs systems.

Chrome works best. Use your child's account and ask them to show you.

My husband and I are having the same issues and we gave up! Crazy thing is I’m an MCPS staff and I can’t log in as a parent!

Thanks all. I don't see each class in the dashboard in the mobile app or laptop. All I see is MyMCPS Classroom which I can't access due to having errors above. I'm trying to see the actual teacher comments that I keep getting Canvas Notifications about. And yes, I've tried to access MCPS classroom on various browsers since the beginning of the school year, but never succeeded. But a teacher in the PT conference said I should be looking there, and I can't get in, and neither can my spouse.

Clicked 'MyMCPS classroom' on bottom right
Clicked "Access myMCPS Classroom using a browser" (other option was "Access myMCPS Classroom using an app")
Got into MyMCPS classroom

Did you try using a different browser or two? Or clearing out your history/cookies? This often solves issues for me.

I have had issues logging into it using the parentvue app on my phone, but always works fine on my laptop. In fact, I just tried it now using my phone app, but I got the same message as you did ("You must first log into Synergy...") when I clicked on MyMCPS classroom.

This is also how I get in. I've never had any problems.

Some tips here:

It's really hard to explain the hoops you have to jump through. Try asking a friend whose done it to sit with you and set it up.

And if you have more than one kid, all bets are off.

LOL.

I gave up on it. I just use my kid’s log in and password and it’s much easier.

I just was able to do it. I first logged into my parentvue account, on my laptop.
Clicked 'MyMCPS classroom' on bottom right

Got into MyMCPS classroom

What are trying to see? If you logged into Canvas Student App as Parent successfully there is no need to click on a myMCPS button. You just use the dashboard to the see each class.

My spouse and I have tried to click on the "myMCPS" after logging into parentvue on 2 separate laptops and mobile phones. We always get this error.

"You must first log into Synergy to access this page!
SAML Authentication failed - Context does not exist. If you are getting this error while logged into Synergy, try logging out, closing your browser, and logging back in again. If that fails, close all browsers kill any stray browser processes running in Task Manager and try again."

So I gave up and got the Canvas app, logged in successful and tried to click on the my MCPS button and it doesn't do anything but say "In order to access myMCPS classroom using an app, you will need to review the directions provided here." But there's nothing to review.

How on earth do people do this? I've looked at the instructions on the MCPS site but since I'm getting all these errors, we can't get to the first steps. Should I call the guidance counselor and say two parents just can't figure this out? The last time I wrote MCPS IT, they didn't respond for 4 weeks.
