+1. I will never finish reading all of the wonderful literature that has published to date, let alone all of the new literature to come before I die. I have to pick and choose anyway. This is just another criterion to consider.

Yes. I feel the same about Marion Zimmer Bradley/“Mysts of Avalon.”

I can separate most artists who have exhibited horrible behavior or said horrible things from their works. But I cannot separate this— in both cases, writers literally enabled their husbands to prey on children (including their own). It’s just beyond the pale for me and overshadows any good qualities to their work.

Could someone please provide a gift link to the article?

I never liked her work that much despite trying many times over the years. Too humorless, perhaps, and it was always a chore to get to the end of a story even though it seemed well told. Now I feel validated in my lack of affection for her.

I loved her so much until I read about this a few months ago. Unforgivable.

Not confusing. If a painter was a pedo, I'd torch that trashy "art" too - no excuses. Her own daughter FFS

You are confusing the art with the human who produced it.

Yep.

I have a book of her collected stories and may drop it at value village.

In case anyone's wondering what the OP is referring to, this is the article:

What Alice Munro Knew:
The Nobel-winning author’s husband was a pedophile who targeted her daughter and other children. Why did she stay silent?

Never read her books and I won't start now. What a horrible woman.
