Yet implies that it will happen. My children, with whom attend PGCPS, have never been robbed. As a teacher within PGCPS, my students have never been robbed, that I was made aware of, unless it was for a pencil... Things like this happen and highlighting them is just brining awareness. Does not mean it is a crises waiting to happen.

When will this stop happening ?


We have been in PGCPS for 11 years and have never had this problem. I'm guessing some of this comes from the fact that the kids in that neighborhood are more affluent than some other schools and have expensive clothing/shoes/electronics. We did get a message from our principal stating that parents should be cautious about sending kids to school in expensive things (eg Canada Goose).
This is a DMV problem, not just a PG problem.


It's a national problem, and not new, wherever poor people live near less poor people.

This is a DMV problem, not just a PG problem.


Thanks for sharing your experience . Maybe it’s only certain parts of the county?


As to your second point:

I never said this only happens in PG. No one did.

Rather, Prince George’s County Council Chair Jolene Ivey held an event to highlight the issue.
