It seems like people are seeing these ads disproportionately on iPads in Safari and Chrome, especially in the college forum (although it literally just happened to me as I was writing this message lol). Do you ever look at DCUM on an iPad?

I read DCUM daily on an iPad. I see the occasional unwanted ad, but am nearly always able to report it. I reported one today. I have not experienced many of the ads described here nor have I have experienced them as often as described by some posts here.

Maria uses an iPad Mini almost exclusively throughout the day and her experience is very similar to mine. Neither of us has seen anything close to the most extreme cases described here.

Thanks, that’s interesting. I will say that I get them pretty much every few pages. Just got one on the college board since posting the above note. It’s constant. I wish there were a way to report them without submitting an email address. As long as I have to identify myself to report, I’m just going to move on.

Just enter a fake email address. I enter my address every time and I've never been contacted by anyone as a result. Reporting is the best way to resolve this issue.

I get ads like this on Safari daily. Typically I can scroll down; worst case refresh solves the issue. They are definitely annoying.

It's not your fault. The big ads actually launch from one of the normal ad slots. If you are able to see the regular ad slots, there will probably be one that does not have an ad, but after doing "#audit" will say "Report" over it. That ad slot is the culprit. However, frequently you can't see that slot because it is covered by the ad. If you can provide screen shots of the ads, that would be helpful.

Another thing is that it seems Chrome is much more likely to get these ads then Safari. You might try to use Safari for a while and see if you get the ads with that.

Hi Jeff. I’m trying to follow your instructions for reporting bad ads but when I do #audit, the ads I need to report don’t show on the page with the “report” overlay. The bad ones seem to take over my screen and disappear. I’ve been getting a lot using Chrome on my iPad. A repeat offender is an AmEx ad. Also got a BCBS one. Sometimes it’s just a black screen that directs me to rotate my screen and I can’t even tell what the ad is supposed to be because it disappears on its own. Apologies for my technical ineptitude in reporting
