Oh for heaven's sake. This is why we have shortages, this is why people with diabetes can't access their Ozempic and people struggling with obesity and obesity-related illness can't access their Wegovy.

WW is very effective, try it.

Ozempic is for those who are diabetic or pre-diabetic you are neither. Wegovy is for those who are significantly overweight, or have a bmi of 27 + another weight related issue (high blood pressure for example). Aging, you are neither.

These drugs are not medically appropriate for you.

Could you find a weight loss clinic that will charge you a lot of money and prescribe the drugs for you? Probably

Why not just do carnivore for 4 - 6 weeks?

And another:

Would I bet a candidate for ozempic?

"I eat fairly healthy and I’m about 135 lbs/5’4, work out doing barre daily but don’t ever seen to really lose weight.
I’m probably about 7-10 lbs from where I want to be and I don’t think it’s really possible unless I’ve very restrictive. Would it make sense to go on ozempic for a few months?"

After 5 years, you probably should have bought some new clothes by now.

Ozempic for nominal weight loss

"I just recently saw a post by my dermatologist saying they now consult on this. I am 5’4 and weigh 145. That puts me on the very high range of normal BMI, but not overweight. I really should be closer to 130 based on my stature etc. Is this the quick fix? Are people using these meds in my case?"

Ozempic or the like for cosmetic purposes

I know I will get flamed for this, but curious if people have used these drugs just to lose a few pounds - like just 5-10 lbs for cosmetic purposes rather than actually meeting overweight/obesity criteria. I have a couple of work acquaintances that are I never thought of as overweight who are supposedly doing this. I've tried diet and exercise and am pretty darn healthy in my habits but can't seem to get those last few pounds off. I'm sure being perimenopausal doesn't help. Anyway, just pondering over here.

Ozempic for those stubborn 5 lbs.?

I think right now, the availability + cost + doctors using for large amount of weight loss = no. But I bet in a few years this will be an option. These drugs are going to change the landscape of medicine and health. As they get cheaper and more available, I bet we’ll see a way for people to use them for smaller amounts of weight loss

This was just covered at length in a thread. The overwhelming answer was no.

Hi - I would like to alter my biochemistry to drop 10-12 pounds instead of doing the work required to get to that weight. Or, more logically, just accept the weight that I am if I am healthy and stop obsessing about appearances.

Is 10 lbs worth staying on a $1000/month drug for life?

I’ve been struggling for 5 years to get this weight off. It makes me self-conscious and really unhappy. I hate not fitting into my clothes and the extra bulge around my middle.
