I dealt with infertility for years and also had an ectopic pregnancy. I’ve got some very religiously conservative family members and cannot begin to count the number of times I was told that it was God’s will, or all part of His plan, etc. I’m Christian and find it hugely offensive that these people think “God’s plan” is for us to suffer or die instead of receiving appropriate medical care.
Of course, these are the same people who believed in skipping out on adequate pain relief when one of them was dying of cancer because that pain was also all part of God’s plan. Suffering for the good of the Lord, or something like that.
