I am filled with so much rage, that I'm scared. Democrats need not only make noise about this and tie every Texas elected official to this. It's not just Paxton. It's not just State gov. It's Cruz down to those crazy local councils who are trying to keep women from driving through their town to get an abortion out of state. These are tactics of fascists.

I dealt with infertility for years and also had an ectopic pregnancy. I’ve got some very religiously conservative family members and cannot begin to count the number of times I was told that it was God’s will, or all part of His plan, etc. I’m Christian and find it hugely offensive that these people think “God’s plan” is for us to suffer or die instead of receiving appropriate medical care.
Of course, these are the same people who believed in skipping out on adequate pain relief when one of them was dying of cancer because that pain was also all part of God’s plan. Suffering for the good of the Lord, or something like that.

The cruelty is the point.

There is no harm to the state of Texas, they just want women to suffer if they have medical problems or the baby is going to die shortly after birth.

All so they can tell the evangelicals and Catholics the state of Texas is "pro life."

As a woman who miscarried a deformed fetus that was putting me into heart failure, I’m so filled with anger and disgust towards anyone who would justify this. I wish them all a brutal gang rape followed by the agonizing, drawn-out death they would impose on women, and I don’t feel sorry about it.

It is unconscionable what this woman had to endure. The forced birthers want her to carry a doomed pregnancy to term, risking her health and future fertility. Thank goodness this judge saw things differently, though the Texas Attorney General's office could seek the intervention of a higher court since they said that the woman didn't qualify for a medical exemption. "Perinatal hospice" is a beautiful option FOR THOSE WOMEN WHO CHOOSE IT. It should not be a requirement. And some might point to the extremely rare instances where a baby with Trisomy 18 lives longer than a few hours or days. This country is not exactly renowned for supporting families who have children with severe disabilities. Wealthy families have the resources to provide the necessary care and support, but everyone else is on their own.
