Spoken like a poor public school graduate.

Can I list the terrible public school I attended to show the hurdles I overcame? Maybe follow an AlAnon support group?

I would. High school grads from private schools often have quite a network. And if you if you also went to a prestigious one, I think it could only make an even better impression. Honestly, that’s also why some wealthy or connected parents make sure to send their kids to private school in the first place.

Central High School grad checking in (Philly’s Stuyvesant)

My Central network is vast and bonded by a similar outlook - and if your posh school might assist you in getting in the door then go for it.

This has been asked before. A lot of people think it's tacky, but people who do it don't care.

I work for a F200 with a a strong UK presence and quite a few people on our UK teams do list their high schools, always private schools.

I was privately educated (in the US) but I'd find it pretentious to put your private HS on LinkedIn. Maybe you get a pass if you're still in college and just starting out if aiming to tap into any local networking the school may confer in your hometown.

I would not think it’s elitist bc I don’t really know what elite high schools are here. So most ppl won’t know and those who do know are prob affiliated with the high school.

I put my high school bc I went to school in another country and most ppl find that interesting, I’m often asked abt it.

Not sure why you are asking. If you think it's elitist, don't put it on.

OP: So I’m in a group, but having it under schools makes it easier to search/find people. You can search under your metro or company. But I know it may come across as elitist nowadays. For the poster who went to Stuyvesant, I think that’s slightly different because in NYC that’s a huge deal. You get in via top scores on a test and it’s completely merit based. But it would still be odd to put on a resume.

I would leave it as a single line item so that it is searchable
