Does anyone actually know? Has anyone heard from their school about placement yet?

That's for the old C2.0. Out of date for a few years now. The MCPS website is rife with outdated material that come up on search. They need to mark that for archive, keepig it accessible but clearly showing it is not relevant to current operations.

Even some of the pages accessed from non-search navigation beginning at the home page lag current policy/practice.

It’s very school dependent. There is a general cut-off, but if your school has 4 4th grade classes and one math/ELA rotation and only one teacher who is ready to teach compacted, only 50% of the kids will be able to take compacted. For example.

But there is a wide range because each school has to have a whole number of Compacted classes, so it has to set the cut off either higher or lower to land on a whole number of classes, depending on the mix of kids. For kids near the borderline, there's not a huge difference between compacted math with no enrichment, and regular math within enrichment. There's a lot of overlap between one great level and the next, or one math level and the next.

You still have a chance to move up or down at start of 5th and 6th grade based on their growth. (And maybe even 7th or 8th if they do well enough in their pre-pre-algebra class that they can jump up to pre-algebra or algebra).

I don't have the answer to your question, even if it's consistent across the county. However, 240 was the ballpark for AIM in 6th, and 250 was the cut-off for Algebra in 6th at the wealthy schools that offer it. I'd guess that maybe 230 and 220 would be the ballpark for compacted 4/5, but I'm making an educated guess.
