You still don’t get it. After you overslept through her visit, it is very rude to ask her to return!! It was on YOU to make the effort!!!!! YOU need to go to HER at a location that is convenient for HER.

I think OP is not American, which explains her vocabulary.

Regardless - OP, I’d your friend came by and you overslept, you don’t ask her to come back again - that’s thoughtless.

You apologize profusely and let her know that you are happy to meet her at a place that is convenient for her - like a coffee place/park, etc near her workplace or home.

Perhaps there’s more to this story that justifies the use. She started her new job as a chimney sweep nigh on a fort night ago. She was s’posed to meet her friend for some cross stitch and embroidery but slept late. She doesn’t want to come off as a real afternoon farmer in her new job, so has not had the time to use Alexander Bells new telephone machine to call on her friend.

You stood her up and that was the last straw for her. If you stand someone up, it’s definitely on you to apologize profusely and suggest another time to get together. Do this once, and if she doesn’t seem receptive, then stop contacting her.

I had a lot of problems in my old role with other co workers but there was one who really supported me.
I accidentally overslept when we were meant to be meeting the other day which meant I didn't get to see her. I then started the new role a fortnight ago so wasn't able to see her during the day.
Since then, I haven't heard from her at all. Just feel sad as she wrote me such a lovely card but now it seems she doesn't care. I know she didnt fake her care for me so am a bit upset at this.
People will say that work co workers are just co workers but it didnt feel like that. I miss her a lot but don't want to initiate contact in case it is unwanted.
Thoughts?
