They say one time at band camp there was a guy who said he was a democrat…

"Team Normal" Republicans, PLEASE, this is a chance to speak out. There is only so much Democrats can do. I'm pleading with you. Someone, many people, will get killed if this doesn't stop.

These are the normal republicans.

What do republicans say about this (other than blaming Democrats or ignoring the issue)?

Hardly a Nuremberg rally.

The folks we should really be concerned about are not these cray-crays, but the GOP operatives and pols who are gearing up to reject or manipulate election results if things don't go their way. These folks have also drunk the koolaid, despite not looking as crazy on the outside as Trump rally-goers.

From today's Post:

Republicans in key battleground races refuse to say they will accept results
The reluctance of many GOP candidates to embrace a long-standing tenet of American democracy shows how Trump’s assault on the integrity of U.S. elections has spread far beyond the 2020 presidential race. This year, multiple losing candidates could refuse to accept their defeats.

+1
This. Trump is godawful and his followers arguably worse, but the worst is the rank and file GOP still planning to vote for all of these terrible people and the deep pockets and the pols doing the planning and the paying. They want a christofascist country and they’re going to pull out all the stops.

Well, he's your guy; Ds spent money to campaign on his behalf because they thought he's be easy to beat. https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/the-democrats-wanted-doug-mastriano-and-now-theyve-got-him/

Now you have an authoritarian teaching people lazy gang signs.

Not sure if there is a whole lot to say, other than, this is bleak.

People (if you can call them that) were more than happy to choose Mastriano. The Moussolini crap was a feature, not a bug.

"Republicans in key battleground races refuse to say they will accept results"

This sucks, but will they all attempt coups?

Most of them will just stomp their feet. Nothing we can do about that.

The violence is only going to worse. Especially as Trump’s legal jeopardy becomes more and more serious.
