I see people discussing how long vaccination or illness-induced protection "lasts" as if the relevant issue is length of time. What we don't know is how the variants will evolve, so people need to stop thinking in terms of time.

It was helpful to me to see public health folks pointing out that the bivalent boosters were targeted to the current variant situation, and that the match between circulating variants and vaccines would never be better than it is right now. That's a good argument for getting the shot right away.

Got the Moderna bivalent today, 11:30am.

I had Moderna as my first series of vaccines, and Pfizer as my booster.

It's sore at the injection site, and it's hard to lift my arm past the horizontal, exactly like every time I get a Covid shot.

So no surprises at all.

Yes, they started a sign up sheet a couple of weeks ago if people wanted to be notified of the boosters coming in - it's a great mom and pop place!

I got it on Friday. My side effects were a sore arm, slight headache, and fatigue. It was not nearly as bad as the first Moderna booster or the second dose of the primary series.

My feeling is that this version of the vaccine targets what is out there now. Who knows what variant will be most prevalent this winter.

Doesn’t vaccine immunity last 6 months? Getting the booster now would protect us till March.

My local pharmacy just called to say I can now get the new Moderna booster. Has anyone had this yet? Is so did you get any side effects? We've only had Pfizer before (2 initial + 1 booster) and did ok with those. I'm not sure if we should wait for the Pfizer to become available next week...
