Hey OP...I'm a teacher too, only I'm about 75 pounds overweight and it is HARD. I've been working to lose weight for years now.
I think Noom is great with their lessons, but when it comes down to it it is calorie counting. It's just not realistic for ME...again, for ME. It is too cumbersome. I also think Noom is very gimmicky with their initial catch: you can be 155 by Jan 17! Ok, sure.
I started the Beachbody program after watching Katie Moore Wellness on Instagram. YES, it is an MLM...but the tracker and the general idea is SO easy: water first, veggies most, dinner and done. No counting, no weighing.
I also started at Burn Boot Camp and although my weight won't budge, people keep commenting on how I've lost weight. It transforms your body pretty quickly!
Hope that helps.

I tried WW. I found that logging was very difficult. Lots of items just weren’t in the database, so that was a pain. Maybe it’s better now.
NP. I liked WW way better than My Fitness Pal or anything else that focuses on strict calorie counting. I do think WW does a good job of encouraging overall healthy eating (although I disagree with them on certain things, like full fat vs nonfat dairy).
I don't know when you did WW, but I could find pretty much anything processed in there, and lots of chain restaurant items as well. The label scanning is really easy. I just don't eat that much processed food. That can make logging really annoying in some environments, but not that bad in WW, where you only have to log foods with points.
That said, I didn't like WW well enough to pay for it, and just used it for the 3 months I got it free through work.
Anonymous wrote:I used Noom and was very successful. I wanted to lose 15 pounds to a pre-pregnancy weight and I did in 4 months. I didn't exercise at all, just used the tools that Noom gave me. Added in exercise and got a Fitbit and lost another 20 pounds over a year. It didn't feel like I was trying to lose weight, it just happened. After 1.5 years, I have lost 35 pounds and not gained anything back. I am so glad I took the plunge. Once you start losing weight, it becomes easier over time. There are some good groups on Reddit if you need motivation or assistance.

But it’s all personal preference - if you don’t know much about the psychological aspect of losing weight perhaps it would be helpful? I didn’t find it helpful. I prefer straight food logging and weight tracking apps like Happy Scale and Carb manager to keep me accountable.
