You can’t take back an extension once committed. Shorter gives him wiggle room.

The extension ending on Sept 1 gives them the opportunity to apply some form of forgiveness right before the midterms.

Let's see if they have the guts to do it.

Hypocrites.

One has nothing to do with the other but Title 42 should have absolutely been extended - why do we want more undocumented migrants in our country? Unless they're going to create fast-tracked paths to work in trucking in or in factories or in fields. But just letting them stream in is a no-go.

Black women are the highest educated population in this country so it makes sense.

Well, its extended to August - no way its not extended again past midterms. So I'm guess all the way into January 2023.

Because he lost his signature legislation piece - the Build Back Better act. So this is all he can do. IDC - its not loan forgiveness so let it ride.

Pay what you owe. Unemployment is near where it was pre-pandemic. There are literally no more excuses for these freebies. Do you know why there's inflation? Because there is too much money everywhere. Making people pay what they owe is one way to reduce too much consumption that's driving so much inflation. That may be an unpopular view, but it's true. US household wealth and savings has exploded during the pandemic due to multiple stimuli and huge amounts of money printing. Time to take money out of the system and make people pay their bills.
