I'd like to know why the teacher to student rate is higher at Lyle's-Crouch than any of the other ACPS elementary schools? Where's the equity in that?

One teacher said that if kids don’t do well on a test they can take it again. No homework at all. DC is advanced and we are leaving ACPS anyway, but I’d otherwise be pretty upset.

I do think the curriculum is interesting and different but damn if I know how it’s being implemented.

last thought - I read an article in the WSJ about how upset parents are by the continued use of technology in (now in person) school. So this is a problem everywhere but article didn’t really give reasons why teachers continue to use this. He pre-COVID teaching plans can’t have just disappeared.

Curious, where are you moving to?

I'm very curious - did you see graded work coming home prior to this year? At George Mason, we never saw a single graded paper come home in six years.

We were in a different school (not ACPS) where we saw lots of paper coming home and we had access to grades on PowerSchool. I just don't know how anyone is supposed to know how their child is doing. We don't even have access to grades here.

I do 90% of my work on a computer and as an adult have to force myself not to get distracted. How do you expect a child to do this?

How do you define good? LCTA kiddos feed into GWMS for middle school, so I've come to know many who went there for elementary. Without exception, they are the rudest, most entitled, and most arrogant students I've ever met.

Is anyone else grossed out anytime they hear kiddos?

Anyway- all the east end grade schools are as good as, or better than, anything you'll find in FCPS.

Middle school is where the wheels come off the bus.

No. Put down the Kool Aid.

I am sure there are better FCPS schools than J-H.

Why are we starting another ACPS bashing thread? Seems you have a good one going already?
