not necessary, i'm going to date myself with this comment.  Back when Loudoun Red was the top team and Loudoun Black was the 2nd team.  over the years (multiple kids playing soccer), we've know about 10~15 Loudoun Black players that never got an opportunity to move up to Loudoun Red leave the club and make the top team elsewhere on both the boys and girls side.

So no, i don't agree that "the child who deserves the promotion is the one who gets it" - that doesn't happen.  Not bashing Loudoun in the example above, i'm pretty sure it happens at every club which is why you see a lot of movement from club to club and it's not just fringe starters looking for more minutes, it's legit talented players.[/quote]
