And that makes calling Jen Ben’s cleaning lady appropriate? The Halftime doc on Netflix goes into more detail but there were other shocking and tasteless jokes about J Lo including an animated J Lo singing about tacos and a headline from an  actual publication telling Ben to not marry the help.

This is a woman who makes sure to look immaculate in public . Imagine what they’d say if she dressed normal like Garner if she’s still the help when at the pinnacle of her career 
 
I know 2002 was a different era but I think she handles it with class in the documentary because she doesn’t talk about the bigoted things said about her. She just lets those headlines or running gags  (that haven’t aged well) talk for themselves and then discusses how Trumps border cages and such inspired her to put cages with kids on stage at the Super Bowl while singing Born in the USA . It was a joke because she famously played a maid. It was a call back to the film that made her famous.

It wasn’t a joke about her ethnicity.
