As has been emphasized at nauseam earlier on this thread, not everything had to do with race, including most of the criticism here- which has been equally thrown at white Ben. It has to do with the fact that they both gallivant from relationship to relationship and neither seem like particularly present or stable presences for their impressionable, still young children. Jen G gets praise for seeming like a grounded parent who keeps her personal life private, and doesn’t uproot her kids lives for every new relationship she’s in. [/quote]

I am bothered- people like yourself use race as the cop out for every criticism these days. Like, she can’t possibly be independently a semi absent mother AND a Latina- to imply the former, it must be caused by the latter.
