Landon JV beat Bullis 11-7. But was not that close. Score was 11-3 after 3rd and Landon played bench.
I don't think JV success is the best predictor of future success at the varsity level. With that being said, it can't hurt your program if you have a sold JV program where kids are getting solid coaching and learning the same schemes / plays as the varsity program. Historically in the IAC, Georgetown Prep for the past decade has dominated the JV landscape and its primarily because they the boys (GP's enrollment is 125 boys per grade to field a competitive roster. Landon (closer to around 90 boys a class) has also done well at the JV level. Even St. Albans probably has a better JV program than Bullis does. Its hard for any of the IAC co-ed schools to field a competitive JV team as anyone good freshman are getting pulled up to varsity at Bullis and Saint Stephens (I don't even think EHS has a JV team)
Why don’t schools like Bullis have some of their boys play with on both JV and Varsity? I doubt many of the freshman are actually getting playing time during the varsity games.
