I don't know but give EHS a break with having a quarantine earlier this spring?Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:A few observations from the Landon - Bullis game last night.
Landon looks pretty athletic however they turn the ball-over a TON for a team that is supposed to be well coached. The Bears, similar in the Prep game, still can't clear the ball which is shocking for a HS team of their caliber. If Landon could clear the ball, they probably win the game last night by 3 - 4 easily.
Both goalies for each team played lights out, in particular the Bullis keeper who stoped some point blank shots.
I expect another tough game on Saturday but do think if Landon can fix some of their mistakes, they should win by a couple. Expect a tight game regardless.
Based on cumulative results from around the league, GP is clearly the front-runner as the #1 seed.
Where things get interesting is for Landon, Bullis, and the Saints. They have all beat one another. I am going to rule STA out and assume they will be the #6 seed for the playoffs. While EHS knocked off the Saints yesterday, its a rivalry game, and I do expect the Saints to come out and win by a good margin on Saturday.
The schedule we were given this spring only shows semifinals and finals for the IAC tournament. Is it possible they are limiting the playoffs to 4 teams, since EHS is not playing a full IAC schedule?

Bullis lacks depth in comparison to years in the past.
New Headmaster is turning a new chapter as it relates to athletics.

I don't think JV success is the best predictor of future success at the varsity level. With that being said, it can't hurt your program if you have a sold JV program where kids are getting solid coaching and learning the same schemes / plays as the varsity program.
Historically in the IAC, Georgetown Prep for the past decade has dominated the JV landscape and its primarily because they the boys (GP's enrollment is 125 boys per grade to field a competitive roster. Landon (closer to around 90 boys a class) has also done well at the JV level. Even St. Albans probably has a better JV program than Bullis does. Its hard for any of the IAC co-ed schools to field a competitive JV team as anyone good freshman are getting pulled up to varsity at Bullis and Saint Stephens (I don't even think EHS has a JV team)
EHS choked the St. Albans win and man-handled SSSA, they are a legit team. They had some late injuries and let SSSA go on a run after controlling the whole game.Anonymous wrote:Ehs 12. Sssas 10
Fortunately Bullis didn't score any man up goals that I can remember.
