Okay, so they move students from WS to Lewis. Presumably Lewis stays an IB school, albeit a bare bones one compared to other IB schools in FCPS. If I were an WS parent moved to Lewis for my rising high schooler, I would go find another AP school. That puts me back at WS, unless it stays close to transfers, in which case….what? Lake Braddock? Don’t suppose the school board thought that one through.[/quote]

If they added more AP classes, then your kid (and mine) would presumably have no legitimate reason to pupil place anywhere else.

They'd need to replicate the full menu of AP courses available at a West Springfield or Lake Braddock at Lewis.  Otherwise, people would just look for any course differences and cite them as a reason to pupil place, just like all the Westfield families who've signed their kids up for Russian so they can attend Langley.
