The overcrowding is a myth

Wait, what? If it only move 90 kids then who cares? I wonder if that's why they pulled in Hunt Valley? They need way more numbers?
I think is is 100 kids based of FCPS numbers.
100 students moved out of WSHS eliminates the 2 trailers added this year.
This also closes a split feeder which is one of the stated goals of this exercise.

Okay, so they move students from WS to Lewis. Presumably Lewis stays an IB school, albeit a bare bones one compared to other IB schools in FCPS. If I were an WS parent moved to Lewis for my rising high schooler, I would go find another AP school. That puts me back at WS, unless it stays close to transfers, in which case….what? Lake Braddock? Don’t suppose the school board thought that one through.
If they added more AP classes, then your kid (and mine) would presumably have no legitimate reason to pupil place anywhere else.
Moving kids without making an attempt to also limit transfers would be pointless.

True. Unfortunately, FCPS has more than demonstrated that they’ll throw a skeleton version of a program in a school and pretend it’s a robust version. There’s no way WS kids reassigned to Lewis are going to get an equivalent program.

WSHS is "closed" to transfers in that FCPS allowed around 60 students to transfer into the "closed" WSHS last year
