McAuliffe carried Fairfax handily so if the same voters turned out in 2023 theoretically someone as bad as Tholen could get re-elected.

However, I think the voters that turn out during an off-year election will be especially motivated to replace her, and certainly many of them would bring up her failings regularly during a campaign if she were conceited enough to run again.

The fact that she only interacts with Dranesville parents now in "moderated" PTA sessions where she gets to screen questions in advance and only answer those she wants to discuss suggests that she would struggle with a re-election campaign. [/quote]
