CVille strength is their middies. Unfair to rely on their sophomore goalie who’s not up to the big game challenges yet. Their middies got jumped to open the game and Madison got in easy on their goalie (5 goals on 5 SoG) They adjusted and did better but it was too late. Hopefully their middies come ready to play vs Battlefield.
I saw this game differently. With all respect, Madison jumped out strong for sure, running to 7-1 at one point. The were blitzing in transition. But to suggest that Centerville middies didn't come to play, when #22 almost single-handedly clawed them back into the game (11-9 Madison at one point) seems unfair. She must have had 8-9 goals with the defense focused on her and Madison playing hard, not to mention numerous draw controls, ground balls, and full-field carries. Never came off the field until she was hurt with 30 seconds left. No C-ville affiliation here, just recognizing an impressive effort. Not the Centerville goalie's fault either. She had 6-7 saves in the last 15 minutes. Madison runs a strong offense, with multiple girls who can get to goal. The better and deeper team won here, but to pile on Centerville's middies is misplaced.
