I think the NYT messed up here, but I doubt that a board member was involved in editorial decisions. That would be a huge leap. Is that was Reddit is claiming? The NYT essentially never settles… if they do, it will probably be because they don’t want to risk a bad industry precedent on actual malice or fair report. It would be highly unusual. In addition to the wayfarer parties, BL has potentially ruined the career of a journalist. These things stick to writers. [/quote]
