Adding to my post, she wants to actually play. She would rather be on a regional team with playing time than a higher team and little to no playing time.
If she's setting and playing libero/DS, then height isn't as big of an issue than if she wanted to be a hitter. There is a preference for tall setters (and lefties too), especially at the collegiate level, but for club there are lots of shorter setters, even on some of the more competitive teams. If she doesn't know whether she wants to play in college, then working to make a Metro Travel or Paramount team probably isn't worth it yet. What geographic area works for you? There are lots of clubs all over the DMV and a good place to start is figuring out what could work logistically. You can use this tool on the CHRVA website to at least narrow it down by state: https://www.chrvajuniors.org/juniors/contacts_clubs/clubs_search.cfm Another thing to think about as you consider where to tryout next year is how much travel you are willing to do. There are lots of local clubs that aren't particularly competitive that still go to 3 or 4 tournaments or more a year requiring hotels, days off of school, and sometimes flights. If that seems like too much time/cost/commitment, then looking for teams that primarily play in regional tournaments is probably a better idea.
