Does the Olympic team not have a sports psychologist?
If she had dropped out earlier she would have given someone new an opportunity to maybe even be in the Olympic team

If you remember, she competed in the preliminaries and warmed up before the team event. That's when the "twisties" showed up. So, she had already competed and posted scores for the team finals. Therefore, they couldn't get a replacement. The 3 other team members had to compete without throwing out the lowest score.

She pulled out of the individual finals and another American got to compete.
Also, she pulled out of 3 of the 4 individual events so replacements were able to compete (some from other countries)[/quote]
