The people repeatedly coming her to tear her down, call her washed up and a diva have some serious issues. I would never be friends with someone like this in real life. I don't like Tom Brady at all but can't imagine going back again and again to a board to dis him. It's pathological.

If Biles would have dropped out of the team event in time, who would have replaced her and earned a silver medal?
Jade Carey or McKayla Skinner most likely.
Neither one of them could've been subbed in after the preliminary round.
Neither of them could have “subbed in” at any time. They had their own spots. Had she withdrawn before any competition started in Toyko, the replacement would have come from the 4 replacement athletes (which quickly became 2 with Covid protocols).

If she had won five gold medals the story would essentially be over after the Olympics. That’s how these things work. She did the best she could do and that’s that. She’s a phenomenal athlete and the best gymnast we’ve ever seen. Someday, someone better will come along and that person will be the new goat. Again that show this works.

If she had dropped out earlier she would have given someone new an opportunity to maybe even be in the Olympic team
This could not have been a surprise to people close to her. There was plenty of time
If you remember, she competed in the preliminaries and warmed up before the team event. That's when the "twisties" showed up. So, she had already competed and posted scores for the team finals. Therefore, they couldn't get a replacement. The 3 other team members had to compete without throwing out the lowest score.
She pulled out of the individual finals and another American got to compete.
Also, she pulled out of 3 of the 4 individual events so replacements were able to compete (some from other countries)
