This is how the GB ends: Gerry is not engaged and picks neither of the two finalists. Instead, Joan comes back into the picture. As usual, Gerry starts crying and says that when she left, there were, "a lot of open questions" they need to figure out. Turns out they are still dating and "building a relationship". They already said something wild will happen at the end so this is it. And this is the only Bachelor that I can remember where Reality Steve did not name the winner. They probably paid him off so he wouldn't.
Apparently Joan wanted to return, and the producers agreed, but then her daughter then had a downturn. https://www.thewrap.com/the-golden-bachelor-joan-vassos-women-tell-all-interview-abc/ That doesn't mean Joan couldn't come back at the very end, though. But if that happens, will we get to see a scene where Gerry and Jesse sit down over coffee or old fashioneds and Jesse says, hey, Joan is still interested, how about it?
Jesse will give the bro talk about doing what your heart says and Gerry will mope and cry. Then Joan will come back and they will all cry.
Joan’s not coming back. Give it up. She’s clearly angling for Golden Bachelorette.
Y'all. You keep talking about a Golden Bachelorette. There isn't going to be one.
ABC is making a killing on the ratings with the Bachelor. They'd be foolish to pass up this opportunity.
+1 I think Leslie will draw viewers. She has far more social media followers than the others. It helps that they can go down to late 50s, maybe, for men.
But again, Leslie has such a bad track record when she makes romantic decisions for herself. When your brother goes on national TV and tells everybody he hopes the bachelor will choose her and fix everything for her, you know there's a problem. And what if one of Leslie's exes comes out of the woodwork? This show has shown us they play it safe by giving lots of love to the widowed people who were in long-term relationships.
But this could pretty much be said about any of the Bachelors/Bachelorettes over 30. Leslie seems less nuts than a Claire, for example. And she’s inspirational in many respects.
Being less nuts than somebody else is not a high bar. I have nothing against her. But how do you think she's "inspirational in many respects" in the way the other women aren't. They've all had careers, even if it wasn't in aerobics.
There wasn't a single SAHM, was there? Or maybe for a few years while the kids were little, but the show didn't tell us that. Instead, when the women pop up on screen, we see their name, age, and job. Honestly April was a school guidance counselor, and while I'm not April's biggest fan, I find that more inspirational than looking good in aerobics gear.
