They already said something wild will happen at the end so this is it.
And this is the only Bachelor that I can remember where Reality Steve did not name the winner. They probably paid him off so he wouldn't.
Apparently Joan wanted to return, and the producers agreed, but then her daughter then had a downturn. https://www.thewrap.com/the-golden-bachelor-joan-vassos-women-tell-all-interview-abc/
That doesn't mean Joan couldn't come back at the very end, though. But if that happens, will we get to see a scene where Gerry and Jesse sit down over coffee or old fashioneds and Jesse says, hey, Joan is still interested, how about it?
Jesse will give the bro talk about doing what your heart says and Gerry will mope and cry. Then Joan will come back and they will all cry.
Joan’s not coming back. Give it up. She’s clearly angling for Golden Bachelorette.
Y'all. You keep talking about a Golden Bachelorette. There isn't going to be one.
ABC is making a killing on the ratings with the Bachelor. They'd be foolish to pass up this opportunity.
+1 I think Leslie will draw viewers. She has far more social media followers than the others. It helps that they can go down to late 50s, maybe, for men.
But again, Leslie has such a bad track record when she makes romantic decisions for herself. When your brother goes on national TV and tells everybody he hopes the bachelor will choose her and fix everything for her, you know there's a problem. And what if one of Leslie's exes comes out of the woodwork?
This show has shown us they play it safe by giving lots of love to the widowed people who were in long-term relationships.
But this could pretty much be said about any of the Bachelors/Bachelorettes over 30. Leslie seems less nuts than a Claire, for example. And she’s inspirational in many respects.
Being less nuts than somebody else is not a high bar. I have nothing against her. But how do you think she's "inspirational in many respects" in the way the other women aren't. They've all had careers, even if it wasn't in aerobics.
There wasn't a single SAHM, was there? Or maybe for a few years while the kids were little, but the show didn't tell us that. Instead, when the women pop up on screen, we see their name, age, and job. Honestly April was a school guidance counselor, and while I'm not April's biggest fan, I find that more inspirational than looking good in aerobics gear.
Some of those jobs did not seem like full time jobs, or even really jobs at all. Like Renee is a "former Chicago HoneyBears cheerleader." She's 67; she hasn't been cheering for the Chicago Bears for quite a while. Several women in "real estate." I have friends who are real estate agents who are basically SAHMs -- they manage to sell almost nothing and make very little money. Real estate agents can be very successful and make a lot of money, but that's not all of them. Susan is a "wedding officiant." Bet she makes about 2k per year.
The only one who seems to work FT is Joan.
And Theresa does/did something in "securities" or "the financial industry." But for the women who are over 70 or even 65, like Theresa, I'm not going to blame them for being retired now.
My gal Ellen, 71, is a retired teacher.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Ok I’ve just watched the trailers again. The editing is very deceptive. I posted upthread that Gerry appears to be telling Theresa his feelings changed, but you can’t actually see who he’s talking to. The clip of him talking is spliced with a clip of Theresa crying during the Kathy fight. Unfortunately I believe he is in fact talking to Leslie. There is a clip of Ellen crying but it’s in fact Leslie’s voice saying “you made me believe you’d picked me.” So, I think Gerry initially believes it’s Leslie but changes his mind after the fantasy suite night with Theresa, and confabbing with his daughters and granddaughters, and picks T instead. That’s fine, Leslie can still find a better fit for her, but what a tough experience.
And I think he insists on telling her in her room to spare her the embarrassment of the final rose ceremony, which then focuses entirely on Theresa.
Barf. That’s when most of the viewers like me who don’t like Teresa will turn it off.
Sure. You go ahead. The ratings won't reflect your distaste for Theresa.
I wouldn’t watch Theresa as the golden bachelorette either - too tone deaf and self involved …
Try reading! It's amazing when you put the words together and make sentences!
The PP was NOT saying that Theresa would be the Golden Bachelorette. The PP was saying that she would stop watching Golden Bachelor finale if Gerry tells Leslie to go home in her hotel room, and then the rest of the finale is about Gerry picking Theresa.
I doubt very much that the ratings will drop off during the second half of the finale if it is focussed on Theresa getting picked by Gerry. If that's your "line in the sand" for turning it off, then go ahead! Miss the last 30 min. of the finale. No one will miss you.
