Immigrants are self-selected group of motivated individuals. They weren't dragged here in chains and had every aspect of their culture destroyed (name/language/history/family units). Many descendants of slaves don't even know their ancestors' countries of origin.

People have done many shitty things to other people over time. This isn't a contest.

Not sure why people don't want to accept what was done to the enslaved people brought here from Africa and the long-lasting effects of that brutality.

Slavery in this country ended 150 years ago. Plenty of time to create a new culture, a lot of new bonds, a can-do attitude, a strong community.

But you're waiting for some White Saviors to do it for you...except you enjoy insulting and attacking any non-black person who dares to help in non-whiny ways.

Plenty of time and yet, government sanctioned housing discrimination just ended in the 1970s with its impact continuing.  No one is waiting for a white savior, just stating the facts.

The saddest part of this commentary is that white women benefit more from AA than anyone.
