Not a single poster has claimed that Jews suffered more, although that of course could be debated. Certainly the Holocaust, in which Jews were deemed sub-human and gassed to death by the millions, is horrendous beyond words.

No, the point being made about Jews is in response to liberals who keep saying that the only reason that blacks have been less successful, collectively, is due to prejudice and bigotry. Jews, despite millennia of prejudice, have succeeded. Even less than one generation after their families were murdered for being Jewish, they went from poor immigrant to middle-class college graduate or successful business owner. Thus, the point is that you can't claim that prejudice alone explains lack of success. Jews have revealed that, and that's why there's so much resentment toward them: they dispel the liberal myth that "it's always someone else's fault."

Of course, if you do think it's relevant, please describe the struggles of black Americans and describe the similarities and differences.

AA terrorized by KKK, jim crow, extra judical hangings = Jewish Pogroms, Nazi Germany, Spanish Inquisition, Rhineland massacres and countless other historical events, massacares, ethnic cleansings over several thousand years, jewish social exclusion, property rights exclusion, blood libel, anti-jewish actions by the catholic church
AA's restricted college admisions = Jewish Restricted College admissions
AA's restricted trades= Jews restricted trades/professsions (in the Jewish case for thousands of years)
AA removed from their homeland = Jews removed from their homeland living as disporia for 2000 years, later Jews expelled from England, France, Germany, Spain and Portugal

The DP with the 32-second summary provided very good detail, and your response is a meaningless put down. And why? Because there ARE significant similarities between these two persecuted groups, with Jews' history of persecution extending for a much longer period of time - and with more extremes. So why does that bother you? Because ONE of these groups has exceeded above average, and the other group....not so much. That shows that there are other factors besides bigotry to explain lack of success, and demonstrates that with the right behavior and choices, people can negate the impact of bigotry to a great degree. Jews are a very obvious example of this.

Really interesting that you discount the impact of color in this discussion.  When my black sons walk into a room, white women grab their purses - that's a fact.  Color and systemic racism is directly related to the continued wealth gap that exists today.  This is not the oppression olympics.  I have no desire to debate Jews vs. black people.
