Halloween is not Christian. My guess is complainy teachers, or, economic concerns. Is it possible 1/4 of the school cannot afford nice costumes.[b]
The principal I spoke with at one FCPS ES told me that is was unfair for the families scraping by for food and rent to have to pay for a costume/have competition for costumes. It was a normal day. It seemed kinder.
Plus there's this: http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/595517.page Would you rather have a Halloween where people complain that people are wearing scary costumes, and whatever other million complaints people will have? Easier just to forgo it totally.
