You are using a false standard.  Just the fact that Trump ALSO lies doesn't make Hillary's lying any more attractive.  Lying is not a good thing even if you lie less than your opposition. Carl Bernstein is hardly a conservative but his profile of Hillary pointed out the same thing.  It's OK to acknowledge that this is true without saying that the other guy is even worse. You and I are not running for office so no one is judging us through that lens.  Don't you think people expect a presidential candidate to be slightly better than Joe Blow? When candidates run on the platform "I'm one of y'all", they don't usually mean "I'm as fucked up as you are."

What I expect is to be able to have an actual discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of the preferred candidate without swatting people down or yelling at them to shut up my man is perfect your man is so awful how dare you question my man. What I would like is for the elected candidate to feel accountable for their honesty and integrity and not interpret the popular vote as a popular mandate to keep on lyin'.
