20 years ago I commuted from Centreville to Tysons for a summer job. The commute was pure hell. Even on back roads. I can't imagine that it has improved with time.
Takes me about 40 minutes. Working 7-3:30 so depends on your schedule.
That sounds pretty hellish to me. That is almost an hour and a half of every single day. Even with an off-hour schedule.
Could be a lot worse than some commutes. 40 minutes each way isn't awful for this area, not even remotely.
My commute from Clarendon to 15th and L was 40 minutes door to door. It was about a 14 minute walk to metro and a 8 or so minute walk on the other side, train time and wait time and boom 40 minutes. I also lived in Adams Morgan right behind the Safeway and worked at Metro Center, with walk and erratic buses it was 25-30 minutes and never less. Less than 30 minutes to me is all people who live in Dupont and work on K/ Metro Center etc OR those who live and work in the burbs
Y'all, to get to work at 7 am it takes 40 minutes. It's longer to get to work at 8:30 or 9:00. Not everyone has flexible scheduling options. And the only way to do it is by car, and you sit in traffic the entire way. No relaxing on a bus or train.
