Takes me about 40 minutes. Working 7-3:30 so depends on your schedule.
That sounds pretty hellish to me. That is almost an hour and a half of every single day. Even with an off-hour schedule.
Could be a lot worse than some commutes. 40 minutes each way isn't awful for this area, not even remotely.
My commute from Clarendon to 15th and L was 40 minutes door to door. It was about a 14 minute walk to metro and a 8 or so minute walk on the other side, train time and wait time and boom 40 minutes. I also lived in Adams Morgan right behind the Safeway and worked at Metro Center, with walk and erratic buses it was 25-30 minutes and never less. Less than 30 minutes to me is all people who live in Dupont and work on K/ Metro Center etc OR those who live and work in the burbs

which neighborhood?
I live in 22033 in what the pp called "Fairfaxland" - Greenbriar. The smallest SFH is just a bit above the $400K mark at this point - they start around $450K now?
We're not far from centreville or chantilly. We basically are chantilly, given the HS is on the same side of stringfellow and basically in our neighborhood. Chantilly Library is just steps from the HS.
do you commute to DC? or how long would you say that takes during peak hours?
No. The OP isn't trying to commute downtown. I wouldn't recommend living out here if you commute daily downtown. My next door neighbor does it, but she leaves early and telecommutes frequently. I think it is at least an hour drive on a normal day.
ok, that's too bad, but thx anyway.

Hey. I may live directly across the street from Centreville High School, but my address is Clifton, dammit! I live in Clifton!Just, you know, not the rich people part of town.
yes....my friend lives in Great Falls....the part located in Loudon.....know what you mean. I know someone who lives there off Union Mill and that area does not feel like the Clifton I know....

Look, be happy you don't have a long commute. You're lucky and privileged. A good portion of people have hour long commutes each way.
True. But, it should be noted that this is a huge downside. 333 wasted hours a year!
