I'll interject that as someone pointed out, this thread and others really does show Travel soccer in the the worst possible light. Sure there is some good and some bad parents, but the vast majority I would assess as pretty decent parents.  It's hit or miss and based on the parents on your team and what team you are on. I would say, it seems from our experience of two years and playing on three different teams in the club, that the higher the team the worse the parents tend to be unfortunately. May not always hold true, but what we have seen in our age group that is an accurate statement.

Rec is no picnic either - i coach a SECOND GRADE rec team and the team we played had the MOST offensive Coaches - just really loud and obnoxious and patronizing. entirely unpleasant to compete against them. Another team had HORRIBLE parents... and we have only had about 4 games so about half have had bad parents or bad coaches. Some people just need to step back and assess that NONE of these kids (on these rec teams at least) are going to make a living playing soccer - it's second grade soccer and it is supposed to be fun.[/quote]
