Nope, it's UMCP that's being referred to above.  UMD could refer to any of the 6 campuses listed below.

UMBC (Baltimore County) seems to be doing well.  There are some threads on this campus here.  UMUC (University College) is designed for adult learners and it predominately a virtual online line learning environment.  I really don't know anything about the other locations. [/quote]

Yes, University College is exactly what you said. It's a huge provider of educational services to U.S. military personnel worldwide. UMBC has a great president. UMES is a historically black campus that's somewhat isolated due to location. UM Baltimore is more for graduate and professional degrees. The MSW program is housed there, for example, and the medical school. There are other schools in the UM system: Coppin, for example, and Frostburg.[/quote]
