Meh.  VT certainly has a "look," but I can't see how anyone would put it up there with some of these others.  Even within Virginia, Richmond is certainly quainter, UVA more historic and stately, and Chrisotopher Newport more surprisingly pretty. [/quote]

Yeah, I know, it's difficult to get into, especially as an Engineering Major or one of the three other hot areas.  Hope you were accepted to a place that you like. Sorry you're so defensive about a school you "never went to".  A lot of people find VT to be highly unappealing.  My DC had zero interest in applying.  To each their own.[/quote]

Did you visit?  We toured as a family.  I was so impressed.  I had never been to VT before.  No Hokies or current students here but one DC wants to apply there ED for engineering.[/quote]
