I have no problems whatsoever in admitting that I would not send my kids to a school in a high poverty area (as for Title 1, it depends on the school) especially at the middle school and high school level. The reality is that schools in areas with dramatic social problems are not able to teach kids to read and write, and the problems that these kids face at home profoundly affect their day at school.
