The team reps for Lincolnia Park don’t have club swimmers so probably didn't know the USA Swimming stance. For NVSL it is a change in position. Not all team reps have year round swimmers and without them, it is unsurprising that they would see this as a rule change for the NVSL (it is a change from previous years) without notice. Lincolnia is not in a competitive division. The fact that they’ve offered their well-suited pool multiple times to host a meet they rarely ever have a team to send to it is beyond generous. They aren’t being petty. They have strongly held convictions that it is okay for you to disagree with. But saying they should still host a meet that shuts down their pool for two days, is not great for the property and didn’t bring them much money at all last year- even though they probably won’t have any relay teams qualify for it is crazy. They are allowed to have a line for them and this is it. They actually wrote up a thoughtful email about their decision and distributed it to the team reps. Again, instead of acting like they are at fault (they actually had never agreed to host it this year- they took over last year in a pinch but it was a one year commitment to take over for a broken two year commitment for a team that lost a lot of money on it the prior year. This year they were in talks with NVSL about hosting again but hadn’t yet agreed to do so. So they didn’t break an agreement to host this year. They just said they didn’t want to host this year unless the usual process for changes to NVSL procedures was followed). Another team is welcome to step up and host. Lincolnia is under no obligation to do so and never had a commitment to in the first place.
