I just read a moving piece from Christina Applegate's forthcoming memoir..how she starved herself her whole life and never enjoyed life because of it. Now she has so many stomach issues and can barely eat, so she's very frail and just wants to enjoy food again. It really made me think about vanity.I'll keep the 10 lbs I would rather shed and just enjoy food and life.
Actresses don't do it for vanity though: They do it to stay employed, and back then (and maybe still now) to avoid being constantly bullied at work for weighing 5lbs too many. But with GLP1s the idea is that you are not starving at all. It's the opposite: you feel full easily, have fewer cravings, and ime makes you actually life without all the negative thoughts and deprivation and guilt, plus you get to also weigh less. Maybe some would consider it vain, but I personally find it so liberating to not have to think about how much I weigh or overthink what I eat.
