How will the new school boundary change from Water Johnson HS to the new Woodward HS effect neighborhoods like Old Farm and Lux Manor? Will it change the property values or culture?
Woodward will be a vastly different school than WJ. Downward pressure will be there for sure. No one will pay the same price for attending WJ and Woodward if other things are equal.
+1 WJ had 5-10% discount to Whitman despite being a very good school. Woodward to WJ gap will be far beigger.
Yes, especially given that WJ will no longer be overcrowded, which is the main issue with it right now. It will be on par with Whitman and Churchill.
WJ was the most crowded place my kid ever was in (I'll add that he is not a concert goer). It is a great school! Removing the overcrowding will only improve the experience. Cannot wait for Woodward to open up. Crazy that it opening just to be a holding school for years. Only in MoCo.
What do you mean?
After years and years of overcrowding at WJ, like no one saw that coming, Woodward school "opened" but only as a holding school. Not as a school available to those who should be attending it, as a brand new school, in a more timely manner. Hope that helps.
