Woodward to WJ gap will be far beigger.
Yes, especially given that WJ will no longer be overcrowded, which is the main issue with it right now. It will be on par with Whitman and Churchill.

Woodward will be a vastly different school than WJ.
Downward pressure will be there for sure. No one will pay the same price for attending WJ and Woodward if other things are equal.

WJ was the most crowded place my kid ever was in (I'll add that he is not a concert goer). It is a great school! Removing the overcrowding will only improve the experience. Cannot wait for Woodward to open up. Crazy that it opening just to be a holding school for years. Only in MoCo.
What do you mean?

If you’re looking at some kind of spreadsheet with FARMS rates to determine where your kid will thrive and where they won’t, you are mistaken.
There is so much angst over Woodward’s demographics that the fact that Einstein would be even smaller and poorer under this proposal largely gets overlooked.
Einstein has 15 portables. Making it smaller was one of the goals.
And, getting rid of them would be great but reductions will be made and not sure what given the courses are limited already. It’s fine for humanities but not stem.
Einstein currently offers more courses than many other MCPS high schools.

The math and science offerings at Einstein are relatively low compared with most other schools but I suspect that is because the DCC means a lot of the STEM kids go elsewhere. Under the regional model fewer kids will be able to leave Einstein. With the overall enrollment reduction I don't know what this will mean exactly for science and math but it is possible that they could stay the same or increase.
